NIT Trichy Percentage: The 2010 Passed-Out Batch Exception
NIT Trichy’s public certificate has two factors. A student’s passed-out batch determines which preset to use; the year of admission is not the selection rule in this document.

Check the official source and scope
For the 2010 passed-out batch, the certificate uses 9.25. For all other batches, it uses 10. This exception is easy to miss if a calculator shows one institute-wide factor without the batch selector. The two options below represent different applicability, not a choice of preferred result.
The certificate specifies CGPA ×9.25 for students who passed out in 2010, and CGPA ×10 for all other batches. The distinction concerns passed-out year, not admission year. Confirm any programme-specific or superseding instruction on your academic record; the public certificate itself does not state an issue date.
Worked examples
For example, the same 8.00 CGPA gives 74.00% for the 2010 passed-out batch and 80.00% under the other-batches rule. Check the date on the relevant completion record before exporting either result. A later application date does not move an old graduate into another batch.
| Final CGPA | Equivalent percentage |
|---|---|
| 6.00 | 60.00% |
| 7.00 | 70.00% |
| 8.00 | 80.00% |
| 9.00 | 90.00% |
Percentage = CGPA × 10
Compare passed-out batch options
Both rows use the same illustrative CGPA. They are different applicability rules, so select the row that matches the completion record.
| Passed-out batch | CGPA | Percentage |
|---|---|---|
| 2010 | 8.00 | 74.00% |
| Other batches | 8.00 | 80.00% |
Use the matching calculator
- Check the final CGPA, grading scale and the relevant programme, batch or conversion-date scope.
- Read the linked official document and select the matching rule.
- Enter the final cumulative value; use the original academic record to resolve an uncertain input.
- Review the formula and result label before exporting.
Save a PDF, print, download an image or share
After a valid calculation, Download PDF creates a portable report with the input, selected rule, result and source. Print report prepares that calculation for paper, and Download image creates a PNG. Keep the programme or batch label attached to the percentage.
Share opens a preview, initially containing the tool link. Choose Include current result if you want the input and calculation details included, and review the preview before sharing. This website’s report is an independent calculation rather than a university certificate.
Questions students ask
Can a student admitted in 2010 use the 9.25 factor automatically?
No. The certificate refers to students who passed out in 2010. Admission and completion are different dates.
Can I use a semester GPA instead of final CGPA?
Use the period and metric requested by the application. A semester GPA describes one term; the final cumulative record can cover a different set of courses. Do not substitute one simply because it gives a higher percentage.
