NIT Kurukshetra CGPA Percentage: Why the Factor Is 9
NIT Kurukshetra’s published academic certificate uses a factor of 9.00. A general ten-point-scale assumption would give a different result, so the institution-specific source is essential.

Official formula and applicability
The certificate contains a letter-grade table and a separate note stating the percentage calculation. The largest grade point being 10 does not mean the conversion factor must be 10. The note is the authority for this preset, rather than an inference from grade-band endpoints.
The academic certificate linked from NIT Kurukshetra’s Student Forms page explicitly says percentage is CGPA multiplied by 9.00. It uses a ten-point grade table and a credit-weighted CGPA. The certificate does not list programme or batch exclusions; check any more specific applicable instruction on your own record.
Worked conversion examples
An 8.00 CGPA converts to 72.00%, calculated as 8.00×9.00. Multiplying the same input by 10 would produce 80.00%, an eight-percentage-point difference. Keep the original CGPA alongside the equivalent percentage when reporting either value to an admissions office or employer.
| CGPA | Equivalent percentage |
|---|---|
| 6.00 | 54.00% |
| 7.00 | 63.00% |
| 8.00 | 72.00% |
| 9.00 | 81.00% |
Percentage = CGPA × 9

Download, print and share your calculation
Download PDF saves a report containing the input, formula, result and official source. Print report prepares the calculation for printing. Download image creates a PNG that can be kept with your study records. Each option becomes available after a valid input.
Share opens a preview containing the calculator link by default. You can choose to include the current result, then review the details before sharing. A report from this website explains the arithmetic; it is not a university-issued certificate.
Frequently asked questions
Does 10 CGPA become 100% under this certificate?
No. With the stated factor of 9.00, 10.00 CGPA produces 90.00%. The calculator does not rescale the result to force the top input to 100%.
Can this tool recover my exact paper-wise marks?
No. A cumulative percentage equivalent does not reveal individual paper marks or replace the transcript. Use the original marks record when an application asks for actual marks.
