IIT Madras CGPA Percentage: Match the Graduation Date

The IIT Madras conversion boundary is a specific graduation date.

IIT Madras conversion guide showing % = CGPA × 10 and an illustrative 8.00 CGPA to 80.00% calculation.
Illustration of the students graduating from 11 November 2020 method. Other programme or regulation options may use a different rule.

Which record does this guide cover?

The official sheet separates graduates from 11 November 2020 from those who graduated up to 10 November 2020. Do not select a rule by admission year or simply use the newest option. The same final CGPA gives different numerical results under the two expressions.

The official sheet separates graduation dates: from 11 November 2020 use ×10; up to 10 November 2020 use 55 + 10(CGPA −6), equivalent to 10×CGPA −5. Choose the graduation-date rule, not an admission-year guess.

Worked example using the supported expression

For 8.20 CGPA, the selected rule gives 82.00%. Keep the original grade-point value and the rule label together so that the saved result can be checked against its source.
