DTU Postgraduate CGPA Percentage: Separate Degree and Admission Rules

An admissions fallback for another university’s record is not a DTU graduate conversion rule.

DTU conversion guide showing % = CGPA × 10 − 7.5 and an illustrative 8.00 CGPA to 72.50% calculation.
Illustration of the M.Tech/MBA/EMBA/Ph.D conversion notification of 2015 method. Other programme or regulation options may use a different rule.

Which record does this guide cover?

The supported 2015 postgraduate notification uses 10×CGPA−7.5 for its named qualifications. The guide keeps that source separate from admissions procedures that assess applicants whose awarding institution has not supplied a conversion rule. Verify the degree and notification before selecting it.

The linked postgraduate notification gives 10×CGPA−7.5. This is different from admissions-only fallback formulas used when an applicant’s awarding university has no rule. Do not use an admission fallback as evidence for conversion of your own DTU degree.

Worked example using the supported expression

For 8.20 CGPA, the selected rule gives 74.50%. Keep the original grade-point value and the rule label together so that the saved result can be checked against its source.

Keep a usable report

Save the PDF with the original academic record when you need a portable calculation. Print report prepares the same calculation for paper; Download image produces a PNG. The source and scope are part of the report, so keep them visible when explaining the result.

Share opens a preview. It starts with the tool link; Include current result adds the entered values and calculation details. Review that preview before sharing. Website reports are independent calculations and do not replace certificates issued by the awarding institution.

Questions about this DTU calculation

Does this prove a rule for all DTU B.Tech graduates?

No. The cited notification is scoped to the named postgraduate qualifications; it should not be broadened to all DTU degrees.

Can one semester’s GPA stand in for the final result?

Use the period and metric requested by the application. A semester average and a cumulative record can describe different courses; calculate a credit-weighted average only under the relevant academic rules.
